Pod Save America, the podcast and brainchild of three former Obama administration staffers, visits Clearwater on April 5 at 8:00 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The trio of Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, (both former speechwriters) and Tommy Vietor (former National Security Council spokesperson), formed Crooked Media after the election of Donald Trump, and have been playing to sold-out theaters across America as part of their Pod Tours America series.

The New York Times described the podcast as "the left's answer to conservative talk radio," and their meteoric rise has skyrocketed in popularity with over 120 million downloads since beginning in January 2017. Hosted by Favreau, Vietor, Lovett and former Obama communications director Dan Pfeiffer, the progressive political podcast covers recent news items relating to government, the Trump Administration, and the Democratic Party analyzing legislation and advocating for progressive positions.

The hosts also offer solutions and assistance to the problems they uncover and offer recommendations for what the audience can accomplish, with a healthy dose of sarcasm and snark. Other Crooked Media podcasts are hosted by progressive figures such as DeRay McKesson and Ana Marie Cox, who often join the tour from their offshoot podcasts, Pod Save the People and With Friends Like These. All of these podcasts are under the Crooked Media umbrella and were launched with the same goal in mind; to inspire political discussion and activism. The intimate setting of Ruth Eckerd Hall will likely sell out quickly, as seats have been snapped up in just minutes at similar-sized venues across America.

Tickets start at $43.25 and rise to $73.25 for premium seating. There are two special ticket packages being offered. The $125 Premium Seating Dinner Package; which guarantees a great seat and dinner on-site at Upstage Dining. And a $123.25 Pod Tours America Ticket and Merchandise Bundle; which includes one Premium Ticket and one Exclusive Gift Package from the podcast. Limited quantity student rush tickets will also be available for $28.75 in person at the ticket office with valid Student I.D.
