The population is approximately 5,000 residents with many more during the winter months. Many of the residents are senior citizens but the younger population is growing rapidly. The town itself is only minutes from the beach and plays host to the famous John's Pass Village and the boardwalk that many tourists enjoy immensely. The night time cruises are quite popular with those visiting the area from you of state. Madeira Beach, Florida also offers many public beaches and sports parks. One popular spot is the Causeway Park which offers many picnic pavilions, fishing from the pier and an observation deck.
