In a city as old and history-rich as St. Petersburg, it's only natural that ghost stories circle around town, especially during the months approaching Halloween.  Buildings like the Vinoy Resort, Jannus Landing, The Detroit Hotel, and the Heritage Hotel are all active paranormal spots in St. Petersburg according to some.

To see all of them, the Ghost Tour of Downtown St. Pete is a great way to do it.   Beginning every night at 8 p.m., the Ghost Tour of Downtown St. Petersburg is a guided tour through the cities historic streets covering all the haunting tales of many notable St. Pete figures and their spirits that still dwell here.

Head down Beach Drive and learn about mysterious apparition of a lady in white has been rumored to wander around the fifth floor of the Renaissance Vinoy Resort.  Many claim it's the spirit of Elise Ellicott who was purportedly pushed down the stairs and subsequently killed by her husband Eugene Ellicott.

The Heritage Hotel in Downtown St. Petersburg is another spot many claim to be haunted by spirits.  Sounds of feet shuffling, sudden temperature drops and a mysterious, childlike figure have all be witness in the Heritage Hotel.  One couple apparently even check out at 3 a.m. because they were so spooked.

We definitely don't want to give it all away, though.  Head to the Ghost Tour of Downtown St. Petersburg website here to get more information and purchase tickets for this scary night on the town.  Tickets can also be purchased by calling 727-894-4678.
