Now open next to the newly opened World of Beer in Downtown St. Petersburg, Wood Fired Pizza is one of the newest additions to the local restaurant scene offering delectable pizza cooked to perfection and much more.

Wood Fired Pizza started with a location on Bearss Avenue in North Tampa back in 2009.  Owner, Pete Taylor worked vigorously to perfect the art of pizza making; tinkering, adjusting variables, changing temperatures,  ingredients, and more to create some truly great and widely revered wood fired pizzas.

The Bearss Avenue location has built enough of a successful following for Wood Fired to open a brand new location amongst the stiff restaurant competition in Downtown St. Petersburg.

Something tells us Wood Fired will hold up, though.  With a 6,500 pound oven imported straight from Naples and some of the finest and freshest ingredients around, it's only a matter of time before St. Pete's hooked on this new, wood fired pizza.

This means a variety of pizzas that accomodate a number of tastes.  Menu highlights include wood fired pizzas like the Michaelangelo with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, fresh mozzarella, caramelized mushrooms and onions, pepperoni, organic herbs, and Peccrino Romano; the Fine Pie with artichoke hearts, San Marzano tomato sauce, spinach, fresh mozzarella, fire-roasted sausage, Pecorino Romano, and organic herbs; and the Bianca white pie with fresh mozzarella, ricotta, garlic slivers, organic herbs, olive oil, and cracked black pepper.

In addition, Wood Fired also serves appetizers, deserts, wine, craft beers, and much more.
