If you recall pop music in the mid-90's, you probably remember how massively popular Hootie & the Blowfish became.  Their debut album Cracked Rear View is the 16th-best-selling album of all time in the U.S. and sold over 16 million copies worldwide due to hit songs like "Only Wanna Be with You" and "Hold My Hand".

But, like many bands, they faded away following their massive popularity.  Lead singer Darius Rucker is now a renowned country star in his own right and now, we've learned, their bassist Dean Felber has opened a brand new restaurant called Blowfish Bar and Grill in St. Petersburg, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The concept was thought up by Felber and his partners - his wife Andrea as well as Mike and Katie Vitale - after the former Toucans Ale House shut down and they decided to open this new Southern-influenced bar and restaurant at 8305 Bay Pines Blvd. N in Seminole.

Blowfish Bar & Grill's menu boasts a modern assortment of traditional and inventive Southern eats as well as a variety of deliciously creative drinks from the bar and more.

Menu highlights include Southern delicacies like a Shock Top beer-battered dill pickle spears appetizer; the Zydeco Cajun Burger with a half pound of angus beef topped with andouille sausage, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and jack cheese; and classic sautéed shrimp and cheese grits.

Blowfish Bar and Grill also boasts a large outdoor patio, 25+ craft beers on tap, and live music from local and regional acts several nights a week.
