The Avenue Eat + Drink: Surely, the burger mongers sit around dreaming up fantasy concoctions like the Rasta seasoned with mango/pineapple chutney, the Turkey Cobb and veggie burgers accompanied by Cajun fries. Save room for the deep-fried Oreos. Outrageous!
Biff Burger and Buffy's BBQ: So many options, all delicious in this no-frills wheel-centric hang-out for motorheads with classic cars or motorcycles, best consumed with a milkshake or chilled beer.
The Burg Bar and Grill: Simple and delicious little hole-in-the-wall, perfect for grabbing a bite before a concert at The Hideaway. Best of show are the Impossible vegan burger topped with portabello mushroom, the gyro feta burger and the black and bleu burger with bacon. Get a side of housemade chips.
Big Jim's Famous Steaks Tavern & Tap: Known for their cheesesteaks and craft brews on tap, this Seminole Blvd. favorite serves up huge beer-battered onion rings, perfect for dining on The Western (applewood-smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, and BBQ sauce, topped with a golden-fried onion ring) or Hawaiian Bacon Bleu (applewood-smoked bacon, topped with grilled pineapple & bleu cheese crumbles).
Datz: After visiting The James Museum, you have two choices for lunch by Perry! Dr. BBQ on 1st Ave South or Datz, right next to the Western art treasure. Two kooky twists are the Double D burger, which has glazed donuts for buns and the exceptional Cheesy Todd, made with deep-fried Mac n cheese "buns."
Gigglewaters: This Safety Harbor staple shows movies and flips burgers that are uniquely crafted, such as The Hendry (topped with butcher block bacon-onion straws, cheddar cheese and bourbon bbq sauce) or The Big Kahuna (topped with grilled pineapple rings butcher block bacon and sweet teriyaki glaze).
