Event Details

How does it work?

It’s simple: Postal workers will collect the food donations while they deliver the mail to residents in Pinellas County. The food is then donated to local food banks, including the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, so the food donations will benefit neighbors in need, right in your community.

Some of the most-requested donations include cereal, peanut butter, pasta, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, dry or canned beans, juice, and canned protein like tuna.

What’s the reason for the food drive?

Local nonprofits that provide food to neighbors in need rely on the food drive every year to stock pantry shelves for the busier summer months.

Families whose children qualify for free or reduced meals at school often struggle to find other ways to provide meals for their children during the summer, so there’s an increased demand for food over this timeframe. Your help will make a difference to these families.
