Event Details
Enter the world of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo through Nelson’s biographical narratives set to the jazz, funk and global soundscapes of the Irritable Tribe of Poets. Led by artistic director Nelson, the Tribe is a musical collective that has performed multiple times at area festivals including WMNF’s Tropical Heatwave, and have released two albums: Kahlo (inspired by painter Frida Kahlo) and Live at the Salvador Dali Museum (inspired by the works of Dali). The evening’s featured musicians are: Ray Villadonga on bass, Jeremy Douglas on keyboards, Peter Mongaya Hogsholm on guitar, and Michael Washington on percussion.
