Whether you served in the military or serve on the volleyball court, join the City of Gulfport and the Tampa Bay Beach Bums for the VETSports Heroes Weekend and compete in the 7th annual Gulfport Open.
Event Details
Mens and Womens 2's on Saturday, November 10, 2018 (8am Start)
Co-Ed 4's on Sunday, November 11 with a parade down Beach Blvd. (Parade @11am; Taps & National Anthem@ Noon)
All Winners in top divisions will be recognized with personal named plaques on the Gulfport boardwalk.
Following the Veteran’s Parade, opening ceremonies will commence for the 7th Annual VETSports Beach Volleyball Gulfport Open at 12 Noon.
Smokin' J's BBQ, drinks and items for purchase will be available courtside. Proceeds raised benefit VETSports Inc., a 501 (c) 3, tax-exempt.
Sunday 4's Tournament Details:
Two Divisions (A & B)
4 person co-ed teams
2 Girl Minimum
3 games pool play guaranteed
Top 2 teams from each pool move on to single elimination round
All games in pool play and single elimination round will have volunteer scorekeepers
All Semi-Final and Championship games will have referees
Tournament winners will have their names emblazoned on the boardwalk, crowned “Kings & Queens of Gulfport Beach”, awarded huge trophies and receive your team photo in local newspapers. (Only A Division eligible for Winners Names on Walk of Fame)
Cost is $25 Per Player ($100 per Team)
FREE entry fee for teams where ALL team members are Veterans or First Resonders.
2 Girl minimum waived for any teams with an amputee team member.
