One would think all that happens every night on Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach would be an expensive event.  No need to say, “Too good to be true,” because this not-for-profit organization has provided the community with endless activities and entertainment for the price of absolutely free since 1995!

‘Buskers' (more commonly known as street performers), artisans, crafters, arts and crafts, live bands and even movie nights are all provided to locals and visitors free of charge.  It is no wonder why the City of Clearwater both supports and now partners with Sunsets at Pier 60.  This organization is arguably the most powerful influence on promoting the growth of the local economy and tourism.

Let’s take a look at an example of what goes on at Sunsets at Pier 60 each week.  Generally starting at around 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, sometimes 10:00 pm, this park lights up celebrating the sunset while the event comes to life.  Here, families and friends, whether locals or tourists, stroll along the walkways viewing the different crafts and arts from local talent.  Along the way, visitors will be entertained by Buskers from fire breathers, professional acrobats, henna artists and more.  On Friday and Saturday nights, everyone brings their low lawn chairs, beach towels or blankets to enjoy a free movie screening.  Movies that have played during these nights include: Despicable Me, Inception, The Social Network, Jumanji, Bedtime Stories, Tangled, Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the list goes on and on.  This outdoor movie setting in Clearwater makes it perfect for any dynamic of visitor, young or old, singles or couples, even families with young children.

Sunsets at Pier 60 with Sunset Cinema at Pier 60 in Clearwater, Florida is truly a magical gift given to the community from this generous organization.  Everyone and anyone should visit this event, especially on movie nights!  Make sure to check their calendar for upcoming movies and additional information.
