As any local would tell you, the Sponge Docks are the pride of Tarpon Springs. As you saunter down Dodecanese Boulevard, you can see sponge boats docked along the pier, and enjoy the aromas (and tastes) of gyros, souvlaki, baklava, and other genuine Greek cuisine served at the approximately fifteen restaurants in the area. Rather than diving for sponges, you may purchase one (or several) at one of the more than 100 shops selling souvenirs in Tarpon Springs.

This weekend, Dodecanese Boulevard and the rest of Tarpon Springs will be brimming with life in celebration of the 30th Annual Sponge Docks Seafood Festival in Tarpon Springs. Admission will be FREE, and there will be live music, local seafood, and an arts and crafts show. Parking will also be FREE at Dog Splash Park, at 508 Live Oak Street, Tarpon Springs. The exact address of the festival will be at 615 Hope Street, Tarpon Springs.

The festival will be rocking all weekend, as it kicks off at 12 noon on Friday, and goes until 9 pm that day. Festival hours on Saturday are from 10 am to 9 pm, and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. This will be the 30th annual Sponge Docks Seafood Festival.

There will be a wall-to-wall lineup of live music on all three days of the festival. On Friday, Joel and Dakota will be playing at noon; Code Red at 3:30 pm; and Razin Jane at 7:00 pm.

On Saturday, Silver and Rust will be playing at 10 am; I ♥ Cats at 12:30 pm; Stone Groove at 3:30 pm; and the Paul Anthony Band at 7 pm. On Sunday, Steve Borst will be playing at 10 am; Keith and Frank at 12:30 pm; and Doors of Perception at 3 pm.

In addition to the music, there will be the aforementioned restaurants, and even Greek bakeries and markets. Soak up the fun (get it?) for free this weekend at the 30th Annual Sponge Docks Seafood Festival, down by the Docks in Tarpon Springs.
