The Saturday Morning Market could easily be deemed one of the crowning achievements of Downtown St. Petersburg in the past few years.  In its 10 year existence, the market has grown to be one of the largest farmers markets in the southeastern United States with over 200 vendors and an estimated 10,000 visitors each week.

Going down at the Al Lang Stadium parking lot (1st Ave. S and 1st St.), the Saturday Morning Market is a great venue for finding fresh produce, prepared food, baked goods, plants, crafts and more straight from local farmers and vendors.  Come hungry because there's a huge variety of prepared food vendors with cuisine from around the world.  Sample foods including gyros, Cuban sandwiches, British meat pies, stone fired pizza, Belgian waffles, crepes, and more are available for purchase.

Patrons can enjoy the beautiful fall weather while taking in live music and other forms of entertainment at this weekly event.  Dogs are also welcome as there are a variety of vendors catering to our four-legged friends.

Farmers markets like the Saturday Morning Market are beneficial for a number of reasons.  Much of the produce comes straight from the farm, fresh picked just a few days before.  Generally, the prices run lower than produce costs at your typical grocery store, since there's no additional costs for transporting the produce and shelving it in the store.  Fresher and cheaper produce?  That's hard to beat.

The Saturday Morning Market runs from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. every Saturday from October to May.  If you're in the Tampa Bay area and looking for a unique, tasty experience, head to the Saturday Morning Market in Downtown St. Petersburg and browse all they have to offer.
