Join American Freedom Distillery at the AMC Sundial 20 in Saint Petersburg this Friday at 5:30 P.M. to hear the untold story of the special teams of Green Berets sent into Afghanistan following the terrorist attack on September 11th of 2001. Legion of Brothers, a documentary produced by Greg Barker, features rare footage of the first Special Forces troops tasked with covertly dismantling the Taliban and al-Qaeda in the months following the day that went down in history as 9/11. The film explores the war stories of the brave boots on the ground, as well as how they've readjusted to life outside the war zone.
From War to Whiskey
The premiere's host, American Freedom Distillery, was established by a group of the Special Forces veterans featured in Legion of Brothers.
Scott Neil, one of the founding American Freedom Distillery veterans, said it was following a trip to Yellowstone National Park where they stumbled upon a craft distillery in Idaho that they "decided to make whiskey not war." Their time in Special Forces created a lasting brotherhood of over twenty years; it was this unshakeable bond that motivated these remarkable men to pursue their passion, the opening of their own distillery.
In order to hone their craft, the trio made their way to Scotland and Ireland to train in distillery practices and then to Cuba for a special instruction on rum distillery.
Bringing the world's best techniques to the Tampa Bay area, The American Freedom Distillery is set to open September 11th of 2017. In the meantime, you can learn more about these special men by attending the premiere this Friday night.
