The holidays are known as a time of giving, lending the season to a host of festive charity events as Christmas in St. Petersburg approaches. During December, support good causes in the community while having fun at these holiday charity events in St. Petersburg.
On Saturday, December 8, The Backyard Company will be hosting a Toys for Tots Toy Drive and BBQ from 11 p.m. to 3 p.m. Just bring a new, unwrapped toy and enjoy a barbecue lunch as well as photos with Santa, games, raffles, and more!
For the past six years, this unique toy drive has collected thousands of dolls and other toys for children across Central Florida. Come to The Coliseum on Sunday, December 9 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and help this holiday charity outdo last year’s collection!
After donating a doll or $20 toward a toy, you and your family can enjoy Sunday Funday activities including a holiday photo booth, cookie decorating, and writing letters to Santa.
This year’s toys will be given to the Boys and Girls’ Clubs of America as well as The Christmas Toy Shop, a St. Petersburg-based charity that provides toys to less fortunate children during the holidays.
Dress in your holiday best and head to the Historic Coliseum for a formal fundraiser hosted by The Youth Development Foundation of Pinellas County, Inc. on Friday, December 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 and help support community programs ran by Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter, part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. New personal care items are also being collected to create dignity bags for the homeless.
Expect an evening of sophisticated fun with delicious food and drinks, dancing, and raffles. Not surprisingly, this holiday charity event in St. Petersburg is popular, so get your tickets now before they sell out!
For another cool toy drive in St. Petersburg, head to CrossFit9 on Saturday, December 15 at 8 a.m. Bring a toy or cash donation then enjoy a super-fun workout for all skill levels followed by a potluck!
As if a free workout and meal weren’t enough, there will also be awesome door prizes from local vendors. All donations will help the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue deliver holiday cheer to families in need.
The Zeta Gamma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. will be hosting their annual Holiday Breakfast and Fashion Show on Saturday, December 15 at 9 a.m. in the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. For $40, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and see the latest fashions while supporting a good cause. Donations from this holiday charity event will go toward the ZEAL Scholarship fund awarding high school seniors.
Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson in St. Petersburg will also be hosting a toy drive of their own on Saturday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring an unwrapped toy then enjoy a free luau lunch as well as a couple of festively-fun contests, an appearance from the Grinch, a free Christmas gift, and several deals on dealer products.
With several different toy drives and a couple of fancier affairs, there are plenty of holiday charity events in St. Petersburg providing the perfect opportunity to give back this season.
