Flavortown in Florida

If you love craft beer, more importantly, craft ciders, head to 3 Daughters Brewing tasting room. As kegs empty new flavors will take their place, according to  John Erik Savitsky, CEO of 3 Daughters Cider. Those in the queue include Mimosa Cider (Dry-Orange), Ginger-Lime Apple Cider, Coffee Cider, Pineapple Cider, and Dried Apricot Cider.  Are you a little ahead of me here? Yes, you guessed it, guests can have fun blending different ciders plus, you can mix ciders with 3 Daughters Brewing craft beers for even more unique flavor combos.

Savitsky shared, "3 Daughters Cider currently has about 25  different cider recipes and we're developing new flavors all the time."  Over 100 different varieties of apples are grown annually for the production of cider. And just like wine grapes, the location of each orchard affects the apple’s characteristics.

Technically considered wine, not beer, like wine, ciders are classified from “sweet” to “dry.”  Made from crushed and fermented apples cider dates back to 55 BC.  In Medieval times, cider was used as currency, eventually becoming a favorite beverage of Colonial Americans. Over two hundred years later and we have the privilege of enjoying this time-honored drink.
