Still a relatively new addition to the downtown St. Pete nightlife scene, 260 First provides an upscale destination for those interested in a club atmosphere without the long trek across the bridge to Tampa. Occupying the upstairs space formally known as The Bishop, the new renovated and updated 260 First is conveniently located in the heart of the downtown area (you can probably guess the address: 260 1st Ave North).

One of the unique features of the space is the outdoor balcony area overlooking 1st Avenue. Inside you will find multiple bars, dance floor, video screens, lighting and effects, and of course music – most often provided by DJ Spindiana Jones. There is a large VIP table seating area, with bottle service available. As you might expect, this is a weekend destination, with the red carpet only being rolled out late-night Thursday through Saturday - with the addition of the occasional holiday opening earlier in the week.

Checking out 260 First's website is likely your best bet for table reservations or booking a private party. You should also check out the gallery to get a feel of the vibe. For quick info on nightly events, go with Twitter or Facebook. Recurring nightly events include 260 Thursdays ($2.60 shots, drinks, and beers), Motion Fridays (select top shelf drinks for $5), and Spin Saturdays. Prices are in line with what you would expect for an upscale nightclub/lounge. Generally there is a cover charge, although ladies are admitted free on Saturdays.

St. Pete’s downtown area continues to grow and thrive. While the choices for a night out are growing with the variety of bars in St Petersburg, many of the newer options tend to fall into the casual, brew pub category. 260 First adds some welcome variety to the mix - a local, upscale destination for those looking to take things up a notch on their night out.
