Event Details
In conjunction with our current Van Gogh Alive exhibition, and in collaboration with the teachers of Keep St. Pete Lit, we invite you to join us for a special evening of writing inspired by art, or ekphrastic writing.
In this ekphrastic workshop, we’ll begin with an exclusive viewing of our Van Gogh Alive exhibit, where you can take in the sights and sounds this exciting immersive installation offers. Afterwards, you’ll use this experience as a jumping off point for a piece of writing. Though storytelling is often a verbal or written presentation, stories surround us in every detail of our lives. Our imaginations soar when we see a whimsical piece, childhood memories are triggered by certain colors and shapes, textures remind us of another time in our lives. Participants will write a one-page ekphrastic story or poem inspired by the exhibit and have the chance to perform their work during the event.
Tickets: $35
Museum Members: $25 (MEMBER CARD NUMBER necessary to purchase. Don’t see it on your card? Click here.)
