It's that time again, Tampa Bay.  The Tampa Bay Rays are set to kick off their much-anticipated 2013 season with an opening day game against the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow, April 2.

The Rays 2013 opening day game will kick off with a ceremonial first pitch from legendary former ball player and Rays Senior Advisor Don Zimmer.  Then, renowned Bay-area saxophonist B.K. Jackson will perform the first national anthem of the 2013 season with a fiery saxophone rendition of this traditional song.

Before the opening pitch is thrown at 3:10 p.m., those attending the Rays 2013 season opener will also be treated to FREE Rays 2013 Schedule Magnets upon entry to Tropicana Field.  Get there early enough (gates open at 12:10 p.m.) and you may get the chance to meet some Rays players before the game.

In addition, there will be a Rays rally and block party on Central Ave. and 13th St. in St. Pete from noon to 3 p.m.  The party will feature an appearance from Mayor Bill Foster as well as prizes, games, cold beer, ballpark food and live music from country rock band, The Troy Duncan Band, and local top 40 hit players, Sunburn.

2012 Cy Young Award winner and recent Sports Illustrated cover story subject David Price will take the mound to pitch for the first game of his potentially greatest season yet.  He'll face off against Orioles pitcher Jason Hammel.  In addition, the Rays will tout a strong opening lineup featuring notable team players including Evan Longoria (3B), Desmond Jennings (OF), Ben Zobrist (OF), Sam Fuld (OF), and more.

Tickets are still available for the 2013 Tampa Bay Rays opening day game.  Ticket prices start at $23 plus all applicable service fees.  Purchase your tickets right here on 727area for prices well below the standard fare.
