This may be somewhat of an exaggeration, but it's near-fact that soccer is just not as well-received in America as it is in other countries, which is a shame because it's a hell of a good time watching an intense soccer match in a live setting. Lucky for us, Tampa Bay got its own professional soccer team when FC Tampa Bay was established in 2010.
They started off playing their first season at George Steinbrenner Field for home games, but now play at Al Lang Field right here in St. Petersburg. Now in their second year as a club, FC Tampa Bay have positioned themselves as viable competitors in the North American Soccer League.
Games at Al Lang Field are as exciting as they can get with a slew of supportive, and loud fans coming out to support from all across Tampa Bay. If you want to see real, fast-paced soccer at a pro level, this is the only place to do it in the Tampa Bay area.
Best of all, tickets to go watch FC Tampa Bay are quite the bargain. General admission tickets will run you $14, closer to the field reserve seats are $18, and berm seating (similar to lawn seating. Bring a blanket) is $10.
They've got five home games left, all of which you can see on the FC Tampa Bay website here. What are you waiting for? Pick a date and head out to St. Pete to support our own FC Tampa Bay!
