New Restaurants in Tampa You HAVE to Visit!

One of the best things about our job is the chance to experience all the newest and best Tampa has to offer. And we can even justify it as part of our jobs!

We've found a ton of new places we love in town, so we want to show them some love. Here's a list of our favorite new restaurants in Tampa so far in 2018!

Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar

Let's start by saying how BEAUTIFUL this restaurant is! Quirky and fun lighting fixtures, textile roof, TV's in the bathroom stalls... these owners really outdid themselves by creating a warm and fun atmosphere. This place is not just a restaurant, but a late night destination to fix your tequila cravings, with over 425 different tequilas to choose! But when you come, make sure you come hungry because their food is nothing short of delicious.

Have your guacamole made for you at your table, and try some quirky less traditional Mexican dishes such as their taco burger. Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar also offers traditional dishes like tacos and enchiladas. Add this restaurant to your list of places to try, you won't regret it!

Bar Asia Tampa

Located on lovely South Howard Ave, this chic new restaurant puts a modern twist on Asian food. While they offer items such as sushi and fried rice, they also prepare more quirky dishes such as Bar Asia loaded fries and an assortment of different types of tacos. If you're not in the mood to eat, you can still stop by and enjoy their lovely patio area as you sip on a creatively crafted cocktail.

I think the best part about Bar Asia is the awesome lunch special: a drink, Vietnamese spring roll, and your choice of three tacos, sushi roll, Banh Mi or a fresh bowl, all for just $10! That's a seriously good deal, and enough food to fill any stomach. Need a new brunch spot? Bar Asia has you covered on Sunday, with $15 all-you-can-drink mimosas and $30 all-you-can-eat-and-bottomless mimosas; sounds like a good time to me!

The C House

Champagne, charcuterie, and cheesecake, arguably the three most important things that start with the letter C, and what better place to indulge in all three than The C House. This edgy new restaurant in Seminole Heights will certainly entertain your inner foodie, with all menu options that start only with the letter C! Chipotle honey chicken biscuit sliders, cheeky Cuban cocktails, and classic key lime cheesecake are just a few things their menu has to offer, and my mouth is already watering.

Sports fan? Sit at the outside bar and watch the game as you sip on some Caymus champagne. Satisfy your sweet tooth with cookies, chocolate bourbon infused truffles, and of course cheesecake. Be sure to check out the hours before you head on down to this foodie paradise.

Prost Kitchen + Bar

This is one of my new favorite places to dine at in the USF area because of its affordable drinks and their delectable food. The atmosphere is modern and entertaining, with community style dining, and a giant outdoor patio. They offer unique concepts such as their Cheers Challenge, which is a monthly contest to drink your way through the country of the month. They feature five different drinks from a country, if you finish all five before the month's over, you get a free shirt and a stamp on your passport!

They also offer a different special every night and a crazy $8 bottomless mimosa brunch on the weekends. They created a diverse Euro-inspired menu with items such as crispy avocado (so good), Reuben's, fish and chips and jager schnitzel. With so many tasty options, you can't go wrong. Go for the pretzel, stay for the liter of beer!

Zydeco Brew Werks

This new brewery and restaurant is located in a charming brick building on 7th ave in Ybor. Try a flight of their beers, brewed in house, with quirky names like "permanent vacation" and "computer love". If you're more into hard liquor, try a cajun inspired cocktail, like voodoo gin, it'll be sure to have you performing all kinds of rituals.

Looking to grab a bite to eat? They have that too; these dishes look like they could've come straight from the bayou; baked oysters, gumbo, po boys, and shrimp and grits, it'll feel like you're in the heart of New Orleans.

Bulla Gastrobar

This Spanish-inspired tapas bar is nestled away under a new apartment building on South Howard Ave. Come get cultured at Bulla's as you dine on a variety of Spanish wines and small plates, like pulpo a la gallega. While Bulla's encourages guests to try tapas so they can taste multiple dishes, they also offer large plates like paella, and a wide variety of cured meats and cheese. The thing I'm most looking forward to trying is their sangria, prepared the same way as they do in Spain, with brandy and sprite! They also serve a three-course brunch for $27, which includes bottomless sangria and mimosas. Sign me up!

Shula Burger

Love yourself a good ole' burger? Shula Burger can satisfy all of your basic burger needs, as well as provide you with some burger combinations you never imagined, like their French Onion Burger; complete with caramelized onions, gruyere cheese, garlic mayo and crushed garlic croutons... BRB drooling.

Vegetarian? Don't worry they have stuff for you too; between their veggie burger and list of salads, you won't leave hungry. If you're anything like me and have a major sweet tooth, you have to try their deep fried brownie sundae, it is to-die-for (quite literally). Come take a stroll down South Howard and stop in to curb your burger craving.

Maple Street Biscuit Company

Chicken and biscuit lovers unite! This new restaurant in St. Pete puts a playful twist on the classic chicken and waffles that we all know and love. My personal recommendation is the Squawking Goat, and oh my Lord the fried goat cheese medallion and pepper jelly is out of this world! There is nothing conventional about this place, and I love it. A warm atmosphere paired with buttery flaky biscuits, plump chicken and coffee. Take your biscuit and sit outside and enjoy the scenery as your taste buds are taken on a trip. Do us all a favor and go here, you will not regret it.
