It's time to shake up your work week and celebrate National Margarita Day on Friday, February 22!  

While Cinco de Mayo is still a few months away, National Margarita Day is a great way to get a head start and try some of Tampa Bay's best Margaritas. And the best thing? You don't need a card or gift to celebrate this day while honoring this popular shaken cocktail. You just have to decide, frozen or on the rocks? Salted or naked? So many big decisions!

On National Margarita Day, just grab a straw and chill out with your margarita-loving posse with some of the best margaritas in Tampa Bay. 

North Tampa

Senor Tequila Mexican Grill

Expect fast, fresh Mexican fare and great drinks from the bar. Some of the specialty margaritas include their True Blue Organic Margarita, the V.I.P. Margarita, and their Double Honey Margarita.

Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant 

This popular Florida chain specializes in tasty Mexican cuisine with an emphasis on fun! They've got a broad selection of classic Mexican dishes, plus tropical cocktails. They have their World Famous Monster Margarita, which is always a reason to celebrate! 

WTR Pool & Grill

How about a tasty Margarita and a beautiful sunset? WTR has some of the most amazing sunset views in the Bay area as well as an awesome happy hour with beer, wine, cocktails, Stoli flavors, and appetizers ranging from $3 to $7 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Centro Cantina

Ybor City's only balcony bar, Centro Cantina located in the heart of the city. Bring your favorite Amigos to this Ybor City delight and pick indoor or outdoor seating. Tequilas has their regular happy hour specials on Wednesday and a menu featuring shrimp, steak, pork, chicken, beef dishes, and vegetarian dishes.

Miguel's Mexican Restaurant

Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar

Bahama Breeze

Bahama Breeze celebrates their Viva la ’Rita celebrates National Margarita Day early starting the day before on February 21. The Bahama Breeze Classic Margarita is available for $2.22 all day (at select locations) as a National Margarita Day special! The party continues as they celebrate everyone's favorite shaken drink through April 7 with drink and food specials.

Clearwater

Poblano's Mexican Grill & Bar

Poblano’s Mexican Grill and Bar has been family-owned since it opened in 2004. Their traditional menu was inspired by the Mexican food their family has prepared over generations. They offer a distinctive margarita that you can enjoy at their happy hour price of $3 at their Clearwater location from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. 

St. Petersburg

Red Mesa Cantina

Red Mesa Cantina offers modernized Mexican fare and handcrafted cocktails. They have a walk-up stand with outdoor tables and flat-screen TVs. Their courtyard is an intimate garden and the perfect setting for your favorite frozen concoction!

Traditional Margarita Recipe 

If you prefer to celebrate National Margarita Day at home, try this yummy concoction:   

  1. Fill shaker with broken cubed ice.
  2. Squeeze 2 fresh lime wedges into a shaker (don't skip this important step!).
  3. Add 2 oz. Tequila Oro.
  4. Add 1/2 oz. Tequila Blanco.
  5. Add 1 and 1/4 oz of Roses lime juice (don't substitute here).
  6. Add 1/2 oz. of Triple Sec.
  7. Add a splash of Orange Curacao (or Grand Marnier).
  8. Cover shaker and shake vigorously.
  9. Rim glass with lime peel and salt, add fresh ice.
  10. Strain mixture over ice.
  11. Squeeze in 1 lime wedge.
  12. Drink up, and party on!
