Every once and a while you come across one of those restaurants that seem to strike an improbable balance between fresh, innovative cuisine and awesome affordability.  Typically, you expect to get one of these and not the other, but when an eatery's got both, well, do your best to keep it around.

Cafe Alma in Downtown St. Petersburg is a prime example of this balance.  Serving up an eclectic collection of cuisine from all around the world for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, Cafe Alma is the place to be if you want an upscale dining experience without the upscale price.

Case in point, their "Relationship Stimulus Program".  Apparently Alma knows what it's like to date with a budget and does their best to help you out.  Enjoy $10 off a bottle of wine, half-off martinis, and free tapas with the purchase of two entrees on Friday and Saturday nights.

Dinner entrees include Portugese Bronze Ribeye, Parmesan Grilled Chicken Breast, Bacon Gorgonzola Grouper, risottos and raviolis of the day, and much, much more.

Weekend brunch is another staple at Cafe Alma.  Enjoy their build-your-own bloody mary bar as well as an assortment of classic and contemporary breakfast and lunch items.  Highlights include a chorizo omelet, Blackstone benedict with applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, poached eggs and hollandaise, and lump blue crab cakes.

The fun doesn't stop at the food, either.   Cafe Alma hosts local DJs from around St. Petersburg to provide some great music to set the mood on Friday and Saturday nights and the IV Poets spoken word poetry group regularly host poetry events at Alma.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, head out to Cafe Alma today and see what they're all about!
