Event Details
In 1878, there were over 4,100 breweries across the U.S. producing beer in a similar fashion that craft breweries do today. However, in 1920, Prohibition, a nationwide constitutional ban on the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages, brought an end to a booming beer era and the art of crafting beer was silenced. December 5, 1933 marks the end of Prohibition and now 85 years later we have over 6,300 breweries in the U.S. and growing.
