Spring greetings all you wonderful women of WHO! Our next gathering is Friday, May 5, 2017, 7-9 PM. That's Cinco de Mayo so we are having a FIESTA! We will be gathering at SHAMc which is so festive and colorful
Event Details
We will all be able to see and celebrate the "WHO DOOR" we bought them from our February 2016 fundraiser. We will be having our usual WHO meeting but since we're at the art center, they are offering a "make and take" craft for $10.00. For those who want to be creative, you'll be able to paint a wine glass with a cool technique.
Please bring a dish to share, but if you don't have time to cook, bring a bottle of wine. The board will bring the chips and salsa. Let's carry the theme into the dishes you bring, (if possible): tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, quesadillas, ceviche, tamales, rice and beans, etc. Wear your colorful festive clothes. Then 9-11 PM husbands and other friends are invited to come join the FIESTA! There will be music for dancing and Irma & Ben will show us how to Salsa dance! There will be a prize for the best Fiesta costume and a prize for the best cinco hat. There will be a Piñata with prizes inside, Sangria, wine and beer, all for purchase, benefiting SHAMc. Ole!
WHO will be raising funds for The Haven of RCS, a safe place for victims of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. This will be a great way to help other women and learn more about the signs of abuse. Please bring a minimum $20.00 donation, make checks out to RCS, or cash. RCS also has a Food Bank, the RCS Grace House for homeless families, and the RCS Thrift Store. So we want to help them by bringing canned goods, feminine hygiene products, ethnic hair products, and toddler's disposable diapers. Any donations will receive one ticket per person for a special drawing. Any donations valued over $20 can receive a charitable donation receipt.
Be sure to bring cash for the "opportunity drawing" tickets. $1 each, 6 for $5, 12 for $10, 25 for $20. There will be over a thousand dollars worth of prizes! Also, you may want to purchase something from the SHAMc artists gift shop.
