Event Details
We are asking for volunteers to pass out bags to visitors on the 4th of July at various accesses (4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, 18th, 24th) for one hour. We hope this will encourage everyone to leave only their footprints behind. We will provide trash bags for you to pass out to visitors and ask that you share with them what we are doing and request that they take their trash with them, if possible. While only 1 volunteer is needed per access, you are more than welcome to bring a friend or spend more time walking the beach and sharing our goal! We have a limited number of T-shirts for our 4th of July volunteers, which will be distributed by Cookie Kennedy (more details to come!).
We invite volunteers to help with cleanup on the morning of July 5th from 8:30am - 10 am. We will collect additional trash found along Indian Rocks Beach. Bags and gloves can be picked up in the office at Crabby Bill's at 8:15am, or will be available at the beach accesses both on the 4th and the 5th of July. If you have a net, feel free to bring one to skim our waters and clean any fireworks debris/garbage. Following a successful cleanup, head on over to Crabby Bill's Indian Rocks Banquet Room (formerly IRB Sushi) for a complimentary breakfast buffet!
This event couldn't take place without the wonderful community organizations we've partnered with, including Action2000IRB, Indian Rocks Beach Homeowners Association, Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach, ZEN Massage and YOGA, Cookie Cutter Hair Salon, Landers Air Conditioning, Biltmore Real Estate, and Rick Daddy's Fresh Market.
And don’t forget to bring plenty of water and sunscreen!
