Attention art aficionados of Tampa Bay! Starting on Saturday January 18th, a new art exhibit, Warhol: Art. Fame. Mortality, will be opening up in the Dali Museum St.Petersburg. This will be a onetime unique experience that won’t be shown anywhere else worldwide…so head over and take advantage of this amazing experience!

Warhol is one of the most popular artists of the 20th century and makes for a great collaboration with the Dali Museum. Although the two artists clearly have different signature styles, they were actually very close friends during their career. Both had a radical approach to art, drew concepts from similar themes in life, and surrounded themselves in bizarre, eye-catching entourage.

The exhibit will be featuring about 100 of Warhol’s works including paintings, screen prints, photographs, and films, all borrowed from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. Entry to the exhibit will also include an audio tour available throughout the whole day, a free lecture, an updated gift shop full of Warhol inspired goodies, and a chance to star in your own screen test video that you can record and show off to family and friends!

This new exhibit running from January 18th-April 27th is speculated to draw in tons of new visitors, especially being that the early months of the new year are tourist season. Director, Hank Hines, estimates that this exhibit will draw in an additional 50,000 guests.

This is the first time the museum has shown any art outside of Dali’s works since opening in 2011, and Hines also says that this is just the beginning of new, exciting projects. The Dali museum would like to continue to bring in a new carefully selected avant garde artist into the gallery once a year.

Tickets to the exhibit are normal entry prices to the museum, which is $21 for adults, $7 for children aged 6-12, and free for children under 5. There are also discounts available for seniors, students, and military. For more information on the exhibit, discounts, and more, head over to their website.
