Every day it seems like food in America, typical groceries you buy every week, is becoming more and more processed, fake, dyed, bleached, mechanically separated, and whatever other processes food companies put their product through to maximize profit and minimize cost.  It's a task in itself just reading a box and trying to decipher what half these weird ingredients are and how healthy or unhealthy they are.

Fresh fruits and vegetable, though, are the saviors in this often deceptive and unhealthy culinary landscape here in America.  For the utmost freshness, it's hard to beat the selection at a farmer's market.  Luckily for Gulfport residents, there's one every Tuesday in the Waterfront District.

Located on Beach Boulevard right below 29th Avenue South, the Tuesday Morning Fresh Market is a mecca for fresh produce, bread, cheese, seafood, herbs, honey, flowers, and so much more.

The market features over 20 vendors and new ones each week alongside live music and a number of other attractions.  Watch an artist craft a new creation as they spin clay on the pottery wheel, chat it up with rescued parrots from the Pinellas Suncoast Parrot Sanctuary, or simply purchase some fresh fruits and vegetable resting assured that you're not only supporting your health, but the local economy too.

The Tuesday Morning Fresh Market opens at 9 a.m. each Tuesday and runs until 3 p.m. Bring your kids and/or pets you probably treat like kids and make a day of it.  Or, stop by on your lunch hour at work and enjoy a rejuvinating, healthy lunch from a variety of restaurants and vendors in the Waterfront District.

Mark a Tuesday down on your calendar and head to the Tuesday Morning Fresh Market.  Just by showing up you're helping build the communal love that makes Gulfport so great.  Stop by soon and see what it's all about!
