It's not every day you get the opportunity to see and interact with a state of the art Indy car up close and personal.  But, if you venture out to the Mahaffey Theater in Downtown St. Petersburg, you can get the chance.

From now until Saturday, February 25, guests can enter the newly-renovated lobby of the beautiful Mahaffey Theater to see the newest Izod Indy Series race car, the DW12.  Guests can take pictures with this state of the art Indy car that will make its debut at the 2012 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg from March 23 through 25.

The car is named after legendary St. Petersburg Indy car driver, Dan Wheldon who died in a tragic racing accident last October in Las Vegas.

The Mahaffey Theater lobby is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday, 9 a.m. till noon on Friday, and from noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The 2012 Honda Grand Prix runs from Friday, March 23 to Sunday, March 25 right outside the Mahaffey Theater in Downtown St. Petersburg.  For more information, visit the official Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg website.
