While many states have banned fireworks over wildfire and budget concerns, Florida is still sitting pretty for now and keeping these great 4th of July mainstays legal.  That means fireworks shows across the state.  St. Pete is no exception either.  The best places to watch fireworks in St. Petersburg are numerous across this vibrant city.

The Pier is a St. Pete icon and an ideal spot to watch fireworks in St. Pete.  Celebrate with the 2011 4th of July Extravaganza at the Pier and enjoy live bands at the Pier throughout the day and fireworks at 9 p.m.  Apparently they'll be handing out free 3-D prism glasses to enhance the fireworks watching experience so be on the lookout.  Sounds pretty cool.

St. Pete Beach is another one of the best places to watch fireworks in St. Petersburg.  The cool thing is, you can see them from pretty much anywhere on the beach.  Bring a lawn chair and supplies and kick back as the fireworks begin shooting off at 9.  They launch near the Tradewinds Resort so head that way if you want a closer view.

Just south of St. Pete, the city of Gulfport is hosting an all-day 4th of July celebration with fireworks at 9 p.m. to top it all off.  Watch the parade go down Beach Boulevard at 6 p.m. and enjoy attractions like an auto show, kids zone, and live music around the Waterfront District all throughout the day.

These are just some of the best places to watch fireworks in St. Pete. Venture out here, watch some awesome fireworks and be safe this 4th of July!
