Good news for all you St. Pete runners and walkers. The Mike Alstott Family Foundation and Athletes for Hearts Inc. have announced the addition of a 5k run/walk to the pregame festivities for the 3rd Annual Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl.
This family friendly run goes down on Monday, December 19 and will feature a little something for everyone including kids races and more.
Kids races will start at 5:30 p.m. and take place on Central Avenue finishing in front of Ferg’s Sports Bar. The main race will follow at 6 p.m. starting at the east side of the Trop and also ending at Ferg's. There will also be "kid-sitting" so you're little one can do their race then be safely monitored while you run yours.
The 5k race will travel right through the heart of Downtown St. Petersburg. Once you start, you'll go east on 8th St., all the way down 1st Ave S. to the Dali Museum, then back to Ferg's right next to the Trop.
Registration for the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl 5k is $25 in advance and $30 on site at the race. Kids race is $10. The first 500 participants are guaranteed commemorative t-shirts. Best of all, everyone who runs get a FREE ticket to the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl at Tropicana Field on the following night, Tuesday, December 20. Watch as Marshall and FIU duke it out beginning at 8 p.m.
Parking for the race will be available at Tropicana Field. Stay till the end and celebrate your finish with a block party at Ferg's featuring performances from the team bands and more.
Burn off a couple of those holiday calories and head out to the awesome Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl 5k on Monday, December 19.
