Yeah, mass public transit may be a gleam in the eyes of many Tampa Bay residents right now, but there are still small forms of public transit all around the area that are perfect options for small, in-town trips.  The St. Petersburg Trolley is definitely one of these.

Traveling through Dowtown St. Petersburg, the Grand Central District, The Pier, and soon, Pass-a-Grille on St. Pete Beach, the St. Petersburg Trolley is the perfect way to get around without guzzling up your gas or worrying about parking and the fees associated with it.

Beginning October 2, the St. Petersburg Trolley will now take patrons from the Pier all the way to St. Pete Beach along Gulf Boulevard for an uber-affordable fee.  Regular adult fare is a mere 50 cents and kids under 5 get on free!  You'd could easily spend more on gas and parking just driving out to the beach depending on where you live.

The new service will run Sunday through Thursday from 6:20 a.m. till 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:20 a.m. until midnight.  For a full list of routes and schedules visit the St. Petersburg Trolley website here.
