Look no further than The Yard if you're looking for a great sports bar in St. Petersburg.  This huge establishment took the place of Shackleton's Folly when it closed its doors earlier this year and transformed the space into a similar, but improved hangout for sports watching, relaxing with a drink at the full bar, dining, and live music in St. Petersburg.

Located in Coquina Key Plaza (4300 6th St. S.) in South St. Pete, The Yard takes the typical sports bar experience a bit further with expansive outdoor seating, two full sand volleyball courts, games like horseshoes and cornhole, stage for live music four nights a week and more.

Big screen TVs throughout The Yard make watching the big game easier than ever and the food to go along with it is anything but plain or ordinary.  Appetizers include small plates like stuffed potato skins (grilled chicken, chorizo sausage, diced tomatoes topped and topped Pepper Jack cheese. Served with chipotle sour cream and salsa) and chips and salsa.

Entrees at The Yard range from inventive hot and cold sandwiches to steaks, pasta, flatbread pizzas and more.  Chicken and waffles?  They've got em, and for $8.99 they're not too bad of a deal.  Other entrees include a fried soft shell crab BLT with spicy roumelade, flat iron steak, grilled pork chops and much more.

For a unique restaurant and bar in St. Petersburg that strays from the ordinary but knows what it takes to do it right, The Yard is a good bet.
