Maine-based beer brewery Sea Dog Brewing Company plans to open a contemporary brewpub-style restaurant in Clearwater by mid-November.

Following the news that our own Cigar City Brewing would be opening a similar brewpub restaurant in Tampa, Sea Dogs' culinary forray into the Clearwater area easily signifies that the Tampa Bay area seriously loves its beer and the food that brings it to life.  Could this be the makings of a new dining trend?

Only time will tell, really.  For now, Sea Dog Brewing Co. is working on putting the final touches on their soon-to-be-open restaurant located at 26200 US Highway 19 N., the former site of Pssghetti's in Clearwater.

The restaurant will brew its signature beer on site as well as have it shipped in from the original Sea Dog Brewing Co. factory in Maine.  Its menu will be composed of Northeastern United States favorites including Maine lobster, New England clam chowder, and more.

Those seeking jobs in Clearwater might also be pleased as Sea Dog Brewing Co. will employ about 120 people in full- and part-time positions at this new, 10,400-square foot location.

Due to its burgeoning popularity throughout the state, Sea Dog also plans to open a location in Orlando this fall as well as additional locations throughout Florida within the next three to five years.
