Caledon Concept Partners Corp., owners of local restaurant chain Ceviche, have announced their plans to open a new steakhouse in Downtown St. Pete dubbed Rococo Steak this August according to multiple sources.

The restaurant will sit at the historic, former YWCA building located at 655 2nd Ave. S. This 1920's era structure boasts 9,500 square feet the restaurant operators have renovated and plan to fill with 170 dining and lounge seats as well as 160 seats in a dedicated banquet space according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

"We envisioned a steakhouse and lounge unlike any other," a statement from a tentative website for the restaurant said.  "A revolutionary steakhouse, in both cuisine and design, which would challenge the strict traditions of American steakhouses."

The new steakhouse in Downtown St. Pete will differ from more traditional steakhouses, its operators claim, with a menu featuring "a larger selection of small steaks, including unique grass-fed options, more playful appetizers, and whimsical side dishes".

Rococo Steak will boast a casual atmosphere with tinges of upscale, chic and modern inside the newly-renovated YWCA building which will also house a new Brass Tap location - which is now under construction - according to ilovetheburg.com.
