If you have a hankering for sushi in Tampa, check out Blue Sake in Dunedin.  Located in a nondescript strip mall, It's sometimes easy to overlook but the moment you step through the door, the lovely décor and attention to detail is immediately evident.  On past visits, I've stuck to sushi but I was happily determined to explore other sections of the menu on this trip.

I started my eating adventure with the Thai Tea. Usually I'm not a big tea drinker, but Blue Sake's Thai Tea is an exception.  Thick, sweet and strong; the tea is mixed with cream and sugar, all the better to refresh you with.

Blue Sake is adding Lunch Bento Boxes to their menu.  These are great because you can mix and match from several options and make one that suits your taste buds.  Ours came with salad, spring rolls, Pad Thai and an exceptional tempura roll.

Next up was the Salmon Teriyaki entree.  The large piece of salmon was cooked perfectly and the bed of steamed veggies were both tender and tasty.

Not able to stay completely away from sushi, I couldn't resist the Sushi Jo.  The chef selects ten pieces of nigiri to accompany a california roll and the presentation is stunning.  The tuna and salmon were fresh and tasty, and the butterfish ranks up there with the best sushi I’ve ever experienced.

I also tried the Bahamas Roll which was fantastic. The california roll was almost lost beneath the chopped scallops and roe. Our photographer Danny enjoyed it so much I was barely able to get the plate away from him.  It was well worth the effort.

Blue Sake proves that quantity and quality can and do go together. I don't know if I've ever said, "Wow," so many times in a single meal.  I will be heading back soon for another order of the Salmon Teriyaki definitely and another Sushi Jo.  In fact, since they’re open for lunch on weekdays, I’m going to head there now.
