Man, oh man do things just keep getting sweeter and sweeter for craft beer lovers in Downtown St. Pete.  Earlier this year, we welcomed The Ale and The Witch with open arms as they gave us 30+ American craft beers on tap in awesome setting with live music and more.  And now, we just got the news that World of Beer, in conjuncton with Wood-Fired Pizza of Tampa, are opening a new location on 4th Street and 1st Avenue South in the building that housed the now-closed Paddy Burkes Irish Pub.

Basically, the two establishments will coexist in duplex fasion, one on each side, while sharing the huge, wooden outdoor patio.  Pizza and beer right next door to each other; can you say "match made in heaven"?  Because we sure can.

The pizza place, owned by Peter Taylor, will be called Pete's Wood-Fired Pizza and plans to serve up delicious pies right out of a low-domed, high temp pizza oven.  No low class delivery stuff here.  We're talking gourmet level pizza with ingredients like fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh sliced garlic, hand dipped ricotta, and much more.

And, of course, World of Beer will take the cake with their notorious selection of over 500 beers from around the world, 20+ taps, cigars and more.  No word on if this location will host live music, but if you've seen that outdoor deck, you know how great it is for live music on the right night.

This double dose of awesomeness is expected to open by the end of 2011 at the latest.  As always, we'll keep you posted as more details arise.
