The 48th Annual St. Pete Open Spearfishing Tournament will return to the Magnuson Resort Marina Cove and surrounding areas, August 16-18.
Deemed the world's largest spearfishing tournament, the St. Pete Open attracts roughly 300 participants and thousands of spectators expected to attend over the weekend.
Many of the world's largest spearfishing catches have been caught at the St. Pete open as hundreds of divers from throughout the world hunt just several hundred yards offshore for big fish weighing upwards of 50 pounds.
The actual tournament kicks off bright and early on Saturday, August 17 with a huge party following at 7:30 p.m. and plenty of other events throughout the weekend.
