Clearwater is part of the Tampa - St Petersburg - Clearwater metropolitan area. Clearwater restaurants and nightlife give the locals a chance to escape the everyday hustle with a night of entertainment. Nightlife in Clearwater is mixed with everything from New York style night clubs to outdoor patio bars. Although the bars in Clearwater close at 2am while bars in Tampa close at 3am, there is not a lack of entertainment. There is also plenty of shopping in Clearwater but one of the most popular places is the Countryside Mall. Recreational activities are abundant in Clearwater while it is also home to the Philadelphia Phillies spring training and the Clearwater Threshers minor league baseball team. A bridge across the harbor brings you to Clearwater Beach which is a great travel destination as well as a favorite to the local Tampa Bay residents.
