The Creaky Bones 5k and Monster Dash takes place at on Thursday, October 27 at The Pier in Downtown St. Petersburg.  Not only is this a fantastic way to get fit and celebrate the Halloween season amidst the beautiful fall weather in Downtown St. Petersburg, but a great way to benefit a great cause, The Arthritis Foundation.

While sweating it out in the early morning is par for the course when it comes to the majority of road races in the Tampa Bay area, the Creaky Bones 5k takes place after the sun goes down right along the water in Downtown St. Pete.  It's hard to think of a more comfortable run than that.

With an entry fee, 5k runners, walkers, and kids will get a microfiber training shirt with the Creaky Bones mascot on it.  Top runners will get 'creaky' awards and kids will receive goodie bags and medals for running.

The 5k run leaves from The Pier, goes past the spooky, haunted Vinoy Resort, and travels on a specially marked path alongside the St. Pete harbor before it returns to The Pier for a post-race party and Halloween costume contest.

Best of all, proceeds from the Creaky Bones 5k and Monster Dash will go towards The Arthritis Foundation's nationwide fight against arthritis, the most common cause of American disability over the past 15 years.  Nearly 66 million Americans, including 300,00 children are affected by this disease.

Registration is $25 for the 5k, $15 for the mile walk, and $10 for the kids race.  To register online, visit the Active.com Creaky Bones 5k registration page.  Happy running!
