Clearwater is a beautiful city rife with scenic sandy beaches and an equally beautiful downtown area that's really taken shape over the past few years.  Along with the physical growth of areas like downtown, Clearwater's art scene has also grown in recent years.  There are a number of art events in Clearwater varying in size and scope throughout the year.  Here are five worth checking out.

Sunsets at Pier 60 - Sunsets at Pier 60 is a daily event simply celebrating the end of the day in Clearwater.  Running from 6:30 till 10:30 every night on Pier 60, this event features artisans, crafters, street performers, and musical entertainment if the weather permits.  You know how the rain can get during the summer, so take caution and pick an optimal night to watch that beautiful sun set over Pier 60 in Clearwater.

Clearwater Jazz Holiday - Lucky for jazz fans in and around Clearwater, Clearwater Jazz Holiday is not only a great jazz fest, but a free one too.  Enjoy four days and four nights of awesome jazz from October 13th through 16th at Coachman Park in Downtown Clearwater.  Past notable artists have included Dizzy Gilespie, Dave Brubeck, and Tito Puente.

Sculpture 360 - Less of an art event and more of a big, art exhibit, Sculpture 360 is a collection of enormous sculptures sprinkled throughout Downtown Clearwater.  This annual exhibit features towering sculptures from artists around the St. Pete/Clearwater area and the country.

The Third Thought Presents: Pieces of Mind - This weekly event going down every Monday at Jack's Junk Food Joint is an adventure in improv comedy.  Watch as improv group, The Third Thought, comes up with a hilarious show for you and the crowd right there on the spot.  Best thing is, the same show will never happen twice because of this.

Clearwater Film Festival - Finally, a festival for the film buffs in Clearwater.  Running from September 22 through 25, this new film festival promises over 100 hours of narrative film, animation and documentaries from around the world.  Not only can you simply watch movies at this fest, but you can enjoy workshops and learn the craft of filmmaking from top industry professionals.
