Next Big Thing, 97X's annual mega concert will return to the Tampa Bay area on Sunday, December 1st, but you won't find much inside the 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheatre on that day.  That's because the music event has moved from its regular Amphitheatre location to Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg for its 12th year in the Tampa Bay area.

According to festival organizers, Vinoy Park will provide more of an open-air, festival-like feel which Next Big Thing did so well when it started at Coachman Park in Clearwater over 10 years ago.  Not only that, but an open setup like Vinoy Park will yield a cheaper, uniform ticket price for those who wish to attend.

Currently, tickets to Next Big Thing are $35 (plus additional fees) on Ticketmaster, $45 starting on October 1, and $60 on the day of the festival.

Much like years past, this Next Big Thing will bring an assortment of high-profile alternative and rock acts together including this year's headliners, neo-punkers Rise Against and 90's alt rock heavyweights Bush.

The two headliners will be supported by an assortment of up and coming and established rock acts today.  This includes sets from the Silversun Pickups, FUN., Grouplove, Of Monsters & Men, Paper Tounges, The Joy Formidable, Twenty One Pilots, and one to two other bands that have yet to be announced.
