Now in its 38th year of existence, St. Petersburg's International Folk Fair has become an iconic event in the area which celebrates the numerous cultures that call St. Pete home.

Hosted by St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society, Inc., this year's edition of the International Folk Fair will take place from Thursday, November 1 through Saturday, November 3 at Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Pete with a theme of "Music Around the World".

Officials call the International Folk Fair a microcosm of the world where an eclectic variety of cultures from around the world will celebrate their diversity through indigenous foods available for purchase, live entertainment, goods on sale, and much more.

There will be over 30 different ethnic groups on hand with entertainment including singing, dancing, and drumming.  Brazilian bossa nova singer Andrea Moraes' band O Som Do Jazz featuring Manson will entertain crowds on Friday, November 2 while Mongolian and Native American bands will dazzle with their one of a kind music on Saturday.

These performances will be followed by a Grand Parade of Nations at 2 p.m. while the evening closes with polka dancing to the music of Mario DeLeon & Company afterward.

The International Folk Fair will be open to the public on Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children.  For more information, visit spiffs.org.
